Run your first job end to end

The click path from a first lead to a paid, finished job, and which guide covers each step.

Once the setup in this section is done, run one real job through the whole cycle before you put the team on it. This is the order it happens in, with the guide for each step.

Before you start

You need enough setup done to reach each step: at minimum, a quote template, a work type, and a project template, from earlier in Set up solarOS.

The path from lead to paid

  1. Create a lead
  2. Convert the lead to a customer, property, and opportunity
  3. Create a quote and set its pricing
  4. Send it, and see what happens when the customer accepts it. If your organization requires a signed contract, see Send an agreement for signature.
  5. Accepting the quote creates the project
  6. Add or confirm the project's work orders, or create one directly
  7. Schedule the visit on the Dispatch Board
  8. The technician sees it on their schedule and opens it, then fills in and submits the report
  9. Review the submitted report
  10. Create and send the invoice
  11. Record and collect the payment

Check it worked

You have one real, finished job in solarOS: a Closed Won opportunity, a completed project with a submitted and reviewed report, and a paid invoice. Everyone who'll touch this cycle day to day has done their step at least once.
