Set up a minimum quote template
The smallest quote template a rep can actually send.
A rep can't send a quote until at least one quote template is priced and active. Quotes in solarOS are built from these templates.
Before you start
You need the Owner or Admin role.
The minimum checklist
- A Quote family exists to group your templates. See Quote families.
- A Quote template exists under that family, with its scope and job details filled in. See Build a quote template.
- The template has at least one pricing line with a working formula. See Price a quote template.
- If your organization requires signed agreements, an Agreement template is attached. Otherwise, this can wait.
- The template is switched Active in quote creation.
That last toggle is the real publish step; there's no separate review or approval stage for a brand-new template. See Get a quote template ready to sell for the full readiness checklist, including what happens if you skip a step.
Check it worked
Settings → Templates shows the template with a Ready status. A rep can select it from Sales → New Quote.
