Choose when a home's system is createdBeta

When a solar quote becomes a project, the project keeps the system that was sold. The home's system is the installed equipment on the customer's property. Monitoring, warranties, and service cases use it. A person creates it from the project's System tab. This setting decides when the project offers to.

The Home's System card shows only for companies with solar quoting. See Set up solar quoting.

Before you start

You need the Owner or Admin role.

Steps

1. Go to Settings → Operations → Project settings.
2. In the Home's System card, choose one:
   • Create it when: pick a work type, such as your installation work type. When a work order of that type is completed, the home's system is ready to confirm.
   • When the project starts: the home's system is ready to confirm as soon as the project is created from the accepted quote.
   • Only by hand: nothing makes it ready. Someone creates it from the project's System tab.
3. Click Save Home's System.

Until you choose a work type, the card says Until you choose a work type, it's created only by hand.

Check it worked

Open a solar project's System tab. Under Home's system, a project that is ready shows Ready to confirm, and the project's owner gets a notification. Click Confirm and create system, or Edit first to change the quantities, serial numbers, Installed on date, and Installed by in Confirm installed equipment, then click Save to the home's system. A project that is waiting shows Planned, with Create now and Edit. Once created it shows Created.

You need permission to edit projects and customers to create it. Owner, Admin, Sales Manager, Operations Manager, and Operations User have both.
