Create a service quote
Start a quote from a service template or a case, and find it on the Quotes list.
A service quote is a quote built from a service quote template, usually for work on an existing system. It lives on Sales → Quotes with every other quote, including quotes started from a Case. To see only one kind of quote, click Filter and pick its Quote type.
Steps
- Go to Sales → Quotes.
- Click New Quote. The New Quote drawer opens over the list.
- Fill it in the way Start a quote from the Quotes list describes. Under Quote Template, pick a service quote template. After Create Quote, fill in the quote the same way as any other. See Create a quote for the Scope of Work, Job Details, and Payment Schedule tabs, and Configure quote pricing for line items, adders, and the customer pricing visibility control.
If you start the quote from a Case instead of from this list, the case's own Create quote action attaches the quote to that case directly. Its Opportunity selector is hidden, and the quote isn't tied to an opportunity at all.
Price a line by the hour
A service quote can bill labor by the hour instead of at a fixed price. On the Pricing & Adders tab, set a line's unit to Hourly, then fill in Estimated hours, Hourly rate, Minimum hours, and Labor limit. A quote has one hourly line. The quote shows an Estimated total, and financing isn't available on it. See Hourly pricing and billing.
Check it worked
The quote appears on Sales → Quotes with its status, and if you started it from an Opportunity, it also appears in that opportunity's Quotes list.
