Set up a quote offer linkAvailable on Growth and Enterprise
Send customers a public link where they price their own job from a template.
A Quote Offer is a public link that generates quotes from one of your quote templates. Customers answer the template's questions on their own, and solarOS creates the quote and an opportunity from their answers.
Before you start
Your company's plan must include Quote Offers. You also need access to Sales → Quote Offers and at least one quote template to build the offer from.
Steps
- Go to Sales → Quote Offers.
- Click New Offer.
- Under Offer, enter an internal name and choose the Quote Template the offer generates from.
- Under Public page, set the headline and pitch text the customer sees. Add photos or PDFs and a booking link, and choose whether to show your phone and email.
- Under Customer questions, configure any intake questions you want to ask before pricing.
- Under Records & attribution, set the Campaign and Owner the resulting opportunity and quote should carry.
- Under Availability, set an expiration if you want one.
- Save the offer.
Send and manage an offer
While an offer is Active, use the row actions to Copy its self-quote link to send to a customer, Edit it, or Revoke it.
Check it worked
The offer's list row tracks Visits, Quotes generated, and Accepted count and value as customers use the link. When a customer completes the offer, an opportunity and a quote appear in your pipeline, carrying the offer's campaign, sales type, and owner. If the offer has an owner, that person is credited as the Originator. If the customer opens the same link again in the same browser, the page offers View your existing quote.
When the customer's email is already on file
A customer who enters an email already on file doesn't get a quote on the page. The page reads Request received and says their quote is coming by email. solarOS then emails them:
- If they have an open quote from this offer, the email links to that quote.
- If they don't, the email has a link that shows the name and address they entered and a Get my quote button. Clicking it creates the opportunity and quote, which then appear in your pipeline. The link works once, for 7 days. Until they click, nothing appears in your pipeline.
If the email can't be sent, what they entered comes in as a lead so someone can follow up.
Common problems
Sales → Quote Offers shows an upgrade message instead of the offer list. Your company's plan doesn't include Quote Offers. Contact solarOS support to upgrade.
